How to Port a Number to CommsMobile

Published:

Overview

Mobile Number Porting is a complex process and dependent on multiple third-party nodes. However, a single-number port with accurate details (particularly the account number) is typically completed within 5–8 minutes.

Delays can occur due to the following:

  • Discrepancies in the submitted account information
  • Delays from the losing carrier in releasing the service
  • Rare cases of an MNP network outage

From the partner end, please ensure the following:

  • All submitted information is 100% accurate
  • The account number is validated with the losing carrier before submission
    • (Note: Invoices often only show the billing account number, which may not be valid for porting)
  • No duplicate port orders are submitted once a request is in progress
    • (Duplicate submissions can cause the port to get stuck and may take 1–2 business days to resolve)

Following the above will help ensure a smoother and faster porting process.
