Overview

CommsMobile Standalone Plans 2.0 are SIM-only mobile services offered through CommsChannel reseller partners using the Telstra Wholesale Mobile Network.

Standalone plans provide individual data allowances per service, meaning each mobile service has its own monthly data allowance and data bank.

These plans include:

  • Unlimited national voice calls

  • Unlimited national SMS

  • Unlimited national MMS (excluding video MMS)

  • Monthly mobile data allowance

  • Data banking (eligible plans only)

  • Optional international roaming bolt-ons

Network coverage reaches approximately 98.8% of the Australian population.

Data Only Plan Restrictions

Data-only plans do not include:

  • Voice calls

  • SMS

  • MMS

  • International calling

  • International roaming


Data Banking – Standalone Plans 2.0

Eligible Standalone Plans 2.0 allow data banking, which means unused monthly data is rolled over into a data bank.

Key rules:

  • Data accumulates until the maximum bank limit is reached

  • Any unused data exceeding the cap is automatically removed

  • Data banking is not available on pooling plans

Roaming packs are available in 70+ supported destinations worldwide.

Important Terms & Conditions – Standalone Plans 2.0

Billing Cycle

The billing cycle for Standalone Plans 2.0 runs from:

28th to 27th of each month

All plan inclusions and usage are measured within this billing period.

Bills are issued at the start of each billing month.


Plan Activation

When a service is activated:

  • Charges are prorated based on the remaining days in the billing cycle.


Plan Disconnection

When a service is cancelled:

  • Charges are not prorated.

  • No credit applies for unused days remaining in the billing cycle.


Plan Changes

Customers may request one plan change per billing cycle.

Plan changes will only take effect on the 27th of each month to align with the billing cycle.


Plan Downgrades

If a service is downgraded:

  • Any accumulated rollover data will be forfeited.

  • The new plan applies in the next billing cycle.

  • Network congestion and number of users connected

  • Terrain or physical obstructions

  • Device hardware capability

  • Supported network frequency bands

  • Device software configuration

  • Destination server capacity


Device Compatibility Requirements

Customers must provide their own compatible device.

4G Requirements

Devices must support:

  • 4G 1800 MHz band

  • 4G 700 MHz band

5G Requirements

Devices must support:

  • 5G 3.6 GHz band

To access 5G speeds:

  • A compatible device is required

  • The device must be within the CommsMobile 5G coverage area

5G coverage currently reaches approximately 75% of the Australian population.

What Happens if a Standalone Plans 2.0 Service Exceeds its Data Allowance?

If the monthly data allowance is reached:

  • Data access will stop automatically

  • No excess usage charges apply

Customers can obtain additional data by:

  1. Purchasing additional data via the CommsMobile portal

  2. Upgrading to a higher data plan (effective next billing cycle)

⚠️ Data gifting between services is not supported in Version 2.0.


Voicemail – Standalone Plans 2.0

CommsMobile provides a voicemail service including:

  • Personal greeting setup

  • SMS notification for voicemails up to 10 seconds

To configure voicemail:

Dial 141 and follow the setup prompts.


Service Restrictions

Certain number types cannot be contacted using CommsMobile services.

These include:

  • Satellite numbers

  • Premium rate numbers

  • Some international numbers outside supported add-on destinations

CommsMobile services are designed primarily for use within Australia.

  • Through the CommsMobile website

  • Via the reseller partner

Cancellation Terms

  • 30 days notice required

  • Charges continue until the end of the billing cycle

  • No credit applies for unused days


Migrating from CommsMobile 1.0 to 2.0

CommsMobile 1.0 and 2.0 SIMs are not compatible. To move customers to 2.0:

  • Activate an eSIM directly in CommsPortal, or

  • Order new physical SIMs through your Account Manager
