Published:

Summary

Stay connected while travelling with a CommsMobile Travel Pack. Here’s everything you need to know before and during your trip.

How to Get a Travel Pack

To activate a Travel Pack, just contact your CommsMobile service provider or reseller.
They will apply the pack to your service through the official portal.

Before You Fly

  • Make sure your destination is included in the eligible Travel Pack countries list.
If not, usage will be charged at standard Pay-As-You-Go roaming rates, which can be significantly higher.

  • Ensure your provider has activated the Travel Pack on your service.

  • Roaming must be turned ON in your phone’s settings.

  • GSM roaming on the backend is automatically enabled with the Travel Pack — you don’t need to manually toggle it with your provider.

  • Only one Travel Pack can be active at a time.

What You’ll Receive When You Land Overseas

If you have a Travel Pack active, you’ll receive an SMS shortly after connecting to a roaming network.

Example SMS (for 0412345678):
“Hi Ben,
A new 7 Days Travel Pack has been added to your service. To cease all services while overseas please contact your authorised CommsMobile reseller.”

How the Travel Pack Works Overseas

  • Your data, minutes, and SMS will be deducted as you use them.

  • You’ll receive usage alerts at 50%, 85%, and 100% of each allowance.

If You Reach Your Limits

If you fully use any one inclusion Data OR Call Minutes OR SMS  the following happens:

  • Your Travel Pack automatically renews.

  • A new pack is charged.

  • Your resources (data/minutes/SMS) are reset to full.

  • You can continue using your service without interruption.

Spend & Billing Notifications

  • You will receive an SMS each time your roaming spend crosses $100, $200, $300, etc.

  • The Travel Pack activation SMS may occasionally be delayed, the pack can already be active even if you haven’t received the message yet.

Expiry, Renewal & Returning to Australia

  • Travel Packs expire at midnight on the final day.

  • If you’re still overseas, the pack will auto-renew and reset your resources.

  • When you reconnect to the Australian Telstra Wholesale network, all renewals and roaming charges stop automatically.

Important Things to Know

  • Travel Packs only work in eligible countries. In non-listed destinations, standard roaming rates apply even if the Travel Pack is active. Check with your supplier if your destination is covered before activation.

  • If your pack was scheduled with start and end dates, it will auto-deactivate on the selected end date regardless of your location.

  • Avoid SIM swaps or plan changes while overseas, this cancels the Travel Pack instantly, and standard roaming charges will apply.

  • Only one Travel Pack can run on a service at a time.
