Bulk Import SIMs & Users with a CSV in CommsMobile 2.0

Overview

Bulk import populates an entire CommsMobile 2.0 order from a single CSV file instead of entering each service line by hand. Use it whenever you are activating more than a handful of SIMs for one customer.

Steps to Bulk Import SIMs & Users

1. Create a new order in the portal and work through the standard order flow:
   • Select CommsMobile 2.0.
   • Choose whether the order is for New Services or a Porting Request.
   • Select Pooling or Standalone.
   • Select the customer the order is for.
2. Select a plan quantity that matches the number of SIMs you intend to activate against the order. To import 16 SIMs, select 16 plans. If you already know which plan each user needs, select those plans now. Otherwise select any plan of the right type, because plans can still be changed in the CSV template or at the time of SIM activation.
3. Click Next. The selected plans appear in a list view with empty fields. Click Import from CSV in the top right.

4. Click Download to get the CSV template. It is pre-filled with the plans and quantity selected in step 2.

   

   Download the template on the right, then upload the completed file from the same panel.

5. Fill in the template using the column reference below.

   Check this before you upload: the Sim Number column decides how each line is provisioned. A 13-digit SIM number provisions a Physical SIM. An empty cell provisions an eSIM.

   Column	Required	What to enter
   Row	Pre-filled	Line number. Leave as generated.
   Plan	Yes	Pre-filled from step 2. Can be changed, but must exactly match a plan available to that customer. Copy the exact name from the Products section.
   Topup	Conditional	Auto or Manual for plans that support Auto Topup. Leave blank or set Manual for plans that do not.
   Email	Yes	For an existing user, the email address alone is enough. Any other details supplied will update that user's record.
   First Name, Last Name	New users only	Required to create a new user.
   Department	Optional	Free text.
   Role	New users only	Customer or CustomerAdmin. If left blank or entered incorrectly, the role falls back to Customer.
   Sim Number	Sets SIM type	13-digit SIM number for a Physical SIM. Leave empty for an eSIM.
   Device	Optional	Device name, for your own reference.

6. Save the file in CSV format and upload it using Choose CSV File. The bulk order table populates automatically, so there is no need to enter each line by hand.
7. Place the order. SIMs can then be activated one at a time or all together.
