Telstra 5G Plan Refresh – October 2026 Changes to Your CommsMobile Plan

Overview

From 21 October 2026, Telstra Wholesale is refreshing a number of 5G mobile plans. This is the first of three phases and affects several CommsMobile Stand Alone plans. Here's what's changing and what it means for you.

What's Changing

• Check if your plan is closing. The following CommsMobile Stand Alone plans can't be used for new activations or 1.0 to 2.0 migrations after 5pm AEDT on 20 October 2026. If you're already on one of these, nothing changes for you right now:
  • CommsMobile 2.0 Stand Alone Voice & Data, 10GB (2.0-4G-S)
  • CommsMobile 2.0 Stand Alone Voice & Data, 15GB (2.0-4G-M)
  • CommsMobile 2.0 Stand Alone Data Only, 15GB (2.0-D-4G-M)
  • CommsMobile 2.0 Stand Alone Voice & Data, 29GB (2.0-5G-XXS)
  • CommsMobile 2.0 Stand Alone Data Only, 29GB (2.0-D-5G-XXS)
  • CommsMobile 2.0 Stand Alone Data Only, 400GB (2.0-D-5G-XXXL)
• Check if your plan is upgrading. If you're on CommsMobile 2.0 Stand Alone Voice & Data, 40GB (2.0-5G-XS), your plan is increasing to 45GB with a price adjustment. New activations get the new rate from 21 October; existing customers see the change from their 28 October bill cycle. The Data Only 40GB plan (2.0-D-5G-XS) also moves to 45GB from 21 October.
• See what's new. From 21 October:
  • New 15GB entry plans on 5G: 2.0-5G-XXXS (Voice & Data) and 2.0-D-5G-XXXS (Data Only).
  • Every Stand Alone plan is now 5G: 7 Voice & Data and 7 Data Only plans.
  • New IDD120 and IDD300 versions of every Stand Alone Voice & Data plan, for customers who call overseas: 120 minutes a month to 42 countries, or 300 minutes a month to 30 countries, on top of the unlimited 15-country pack.
  • Data top-ups for Stand Alone plans: a 2GB auto top-up (up to 5 a billing cycle) or a 1GB manual top-up.
• Note what isn't changing. Pooling plans (Voice & Data and Data Only) are not affected in this phase. Any changes to Pooling plans are expected in December 2026, and we'll notify you ahead of that separately.
