Step 7 - The eSIM Check Tool - Migration Guide
Published:
Overview
The eSIM Check tool confirms whether a customer's device supports eSIM, and can be completed by an agent or sent directly to the customer to complete themselves.
Steps to Use the eSIM Check Tool
- Open the eSIM Check tool from a service line to confirm eSIM compatibility.
- If the device is known, type its name into the search field and select it from the list. The tool confirms eSIM support automatically, and the line's SIM type updates immediately with no extra save required.
- If the device is unknown, send the check link to the customer by entering their email and clicking Send Email, or click Copy Link to share it manually.
- Note that the customer does not need a portal account to use the tool — they only need to open the link in a browser.
- When the customer opens the link, they confirm their mobile number against the service the link was generated for, then click Continue.
- The customer types their device name and selects it from the list, or selects the other option to manually specify eSIM support if their device isn't listed.
- For a physical SIM, the customer can optionally enter a SIM number if one has already been provided; no SIM number is required for eSIM.
- Once confirmed, the information writes back automatically to both plan options on the quote.
- If the customer changes their email during the check, the portal offers to sync it with the notification email set in Plan Association — changing one updates the other, and this address is then used for both notifications and the eSIM QR code.
- Click Save to Draft or Publish to Production.
