Ordering New DIDs (Phone Numbers) – Information Required
Overview
This article explains the information required when requesting new DIDs (Direct Inward Dialing numbers) from CommsChannel. Providing all the details listed below ensures your order is processed quickly and your numbers are configured correctly on the desired service.
Step 1: Select the Type and Location of DIDs
When placing your DID order, please specify the following details:

If you need SMS functionality, please select Virtual Mobile Numbers. |
Step 2: Define the Service Destination
Please confirm where you would like the new numbers to be routed once they are active.

Processing Time
Typical DID provisioning takes 1–2 business days, depending on area code availability and carrier assignment. Requests for sequential blocks or mobile DIDs may take slightly longer.

• Ensure you specify area code, number type, and quantity.
• Confirm whether numbers should be added to an existing service or a new service.
• If linking to a new service, confirm SIP Trunk or Yeastar PBX type.
