AAPT DNS Server Migration - Update Your Static DNS Settings
Published:
Overview
AAPT has migrated to a new geographically redundant DNS cluster. Most services updated automatically, but customers with statically configured DNS entries need to update their settings manually before the old servers are decommissioned on 31 August 2026.
Do You Need to Act?
| Connection Type | Action Required |
|---|---|
| DHCP (automatic IP config) | No - updated automatically in September 2025 |
| PPPoE / NWB sessions | No - updated automatically on next reconnect |
| Static DNS (manually entered DNS addresses) | Yes - manual update required before 31 August 2026 |
If you are unsure whether a customer has static DNS configured, check the router or CPE admin interface under the WAN or DNS settings page.
New AAPT DNS Addresses
| IP Address | |
|---|---|
| Primary DNS | 203.8.183.1 |
| Secondary DNS | 192.189.54.17 |
These servers are live and ready to use now.
Steps to Update Static DNS Settings
- Log into the router or CPE admin interface (typically via a browser at
192.168.1.1or192.168.0.1) - Navigate to the WAN or Internet settings section
- Locate the DNS Server fields
- Replace the existing AAPT DNS entries with the new addresses above
- Save the settings and apply
- Confirm DNS resolution is working by browsing to a website or running a ping test against a domain name
