Viewing Service Usage & CDRs in the Comms Portal

Published:

Overview

The Usage tab in the Comms Portal allows partners to view data, SMS/MMS, and call activity for any active service — including a 30-day usage trend chart and detailed CDRs (Call Detail Records) that can be filtered by date, record type, origin, and destination.

Steps to View Usage & Apply Filters for a Service

  1. Log in to the Comms Portal.
  2. Navigate to Services and select the service you want to inspect.
  3. Click the Usage tab from the service menu (alongside Overview, Features, Travel Packs, Activity, and Advanced).
  4. The Usage Trends chart loads automatically, showing the last 30 days of activity across three metrics: Data Usage (MBs), SMS Usage, and Call Seconds. Each metric is represented by a separate colour-coded line on the chart.
  5. Scroll down to the Usage Detail Records table to view individual CDRs. The table includes the following columns:
    ColumnDescription
Customer AccountThe account the service belongs to
Phone NumberThe mobile number for the service
Record TypeCall, SMS, Data, or Travel Pack
Start DateWhen the usage event began
End DateWhen the usage event ended
Duration / AmountCall duration in seconds or data in MBs
    OriginThe originating number or source
    DestinationThe destination number or endpoint
    PriceCharge applied for the record
Extra InfoAdditional metadata for the record
RegionGeographic region of the usage event
  6. To filter CDRs, open the Filters panel on the right side of the screen.
  7. Under Origin, select This Service to show only records originating from this service, or Any to include all. Optionally, type a number in the Search origin number field.
  8. Under Destination, apply the same logic — select This Service, Any, or search for a specific destination number.
  9. Under Date Filters, set a Start Date and End Date to narrow the results to a specific period.
  10. Under Record Type Filters, tick one or more of: Call, SMS, Data, or Travel Pack to limit results to that record type.
  11. Click Apply to run the filtered query. Click Clear All to reset all filters.
